Ireland Trip

In October I took a trip through Ireland for a few weeks, driving around and taking pictures of the castles and landscapes across the Island. Even in the fall, I saw more shades of green than anywhere here. With luck, I'll be going back next year for longer and with new equipment.

Goat Statue
An old stone statue in the trails by Dunboyne Castle Hotel.

Ancient Guard House
The entrance to the original Dunboyne Castle. The door still opens and locks, kind of pointless though haha.

Mossy Lion
A very old lion fountain coated in moss, tucked away by the trees.

 Rainbow
The first rainbow I saw in Ireland, but definitely not the best yet.

 Trim Castle
Part of Trim Castle's remains, in the top right is the Abby.

 Trim Castle 2
A view of Trim Castle's moat and surrounding lands.

 Calm Waters
Some boats on the River Shannon, about 5 minutes before the rain.

 Mirror Surface
The waters of Lough Meelagh, still as glass.

 Forest Trails
The path between Kilronan Castle and Lough Meelagh. Felt like being back home.

Solitude
One of the statues outside Kilronan Castle.

Castle Lights
Kilronan Castle light up at night, about 30 min before the fog rolled in.

Kilronan
The castle during the day, this is one of my favourite places to stay.

Yeats
A statue of poet William Yeats, surrounded by engravings of his works.

Celtic High Cross
An 11th century High Cross in Drumcliffe Church. You can make out all the carvings still.

 Ben Bulben Mountain
A view of the mountains from the church yard.

Misty Tops
High enough for the clouds to cover the top.

Distant Castle
One of the Royals' castles by the ocean, wish I could have gotten closer to it.
